Can't post comments nor subscribe to any user generated content (UGC) anymore

Hello readers,

I'm using the normal (public release) Steam client, not the beta build. I've first encountered this problem almost a day ago.

Here are the error messages I receive:

SUBSCRIBE TO THREAD
There was a problem updating your subscription. Please try again later.
[OK]

Sorry, some kind of error has occurred: There was an error communicating with the network. Please try again later.

The 2nd error message is being displayed when I my attempt to post a comment on a workshop item.

Solutions I've tried (in no particular order) that didn't help me:

1. unsubscribing from some UGC discussions I previously joined. I've unchecked the little check mark. I have done this because I thought there might be a maximum limit of active community discussion subscriptions (UGC-related or not). On the other hand, I can still participate in the normal discussions (forums ; non UGC), proof being this new thread.
2. restarting the Steam client
3. using the browser

Can anyone help me out? Is it just me having this problem? I've noticed there are new comments being added to various UGC, yet I can't do it myself. Is Steam having some issues with their servers in some regions only?

P.S. I have also tested the following features to verify whether they work or not:
> rating UGC - I gave a thumbs up, then thumbs down to a UGC
> subscribing to a workshop item by clicking on the big "Subscribe" button
> adding a UGC to favorites list by clicking on the "Favorite" button
> subscribing and posting comments on a game review
They work properly.

There are other threads on this. Some comments are working while other comments are not. Most likely a server side issue that they need to resolve.

i have similar problem and i also can't access some workshop item for empyrion some ships am subscribed to apear in game others don't
