PS4 gamepad won't even get recognized by PC as a "Wireless Controller"

Hi

So I used a generic gamepad (Hama uRage Vendetta) in the past, which I successfully connected with Inputmapper and x360c

yesterday that I got gifted a ps4 controller for my bday, I tried plugging it in with a 3rd party USB-MicroUSB cable, and it's just on standby - e.g. yellow light fading signalling that it's charging.

My pc won't even register it as a gamepad nor an audio device, generally doesn't even show up as a device, not even in device man ager, I downloaded numerous versions of DS4W and even tried downloading the drivers manually, but nothing worked.

Any solutions?

Sounds like the cable you're using is power/charge only. Find a Data/Sync and Power/Charge cable.

Or get a Bluetooth dongle and connect it via Bluetooth

Does it have to be Syncing and a Charging cable in one?

Yes. Any cable that can Data/Sync will be able to charge But not all Charge/power cables can
sync/data transfer.

I'm getting the bluetooth dongle rn, will be better I guess.
