It's not their problem.
You got ripped off. Since you didn't go through Steam you have ZERO recourse through Steam. If you paid for it with a credit card or via paypal, reverse the charges and never use that CENSORED FOR A REASON site.
The reason those letters are removed is because they SELL ILLEGAL KEYS.
Theres a reason for that
Charge back. A non-scummy vendor would never ask customers to clean up the vendor's mess. Issue a chargeback with your payment provider.
It's not even a mess, probably. Since they are not getting the keys from the publisher, they have no information about them at all -- they could be used. they could be for other games, or they might not even be valid keys at all; the company has no way of knowing until someone tries it.
This isn't a "trust" issue, it's them pulling keys from shady or outright illegal sources. And while a stolen or 2nd hand car can be inspected by an expert to decide what to do with it, or figure out whether that Rolex actually is a Rolex, you just can't do that with a Steam key.
