An IP address is essentially just a numbered label for a device connected to the internet. An IP address can give your general location (for example, if you live in the US, then it's capable of revealing what state you live in and the general area in that state). However, this isn't always the case, and for example, my IP address shows me as being from a different part of my state to where I actually live. It just depends. It's not really something someone could realistically track you down with though.

It has nothing to do with anything else you mentioned.

1st question yes, anything peer to peer connection will display people IP, such as playing p2p games, streaming, or whatever.

The 2nd question, can they remote access your PC by IP, well that a tricky question, but no, and reason is they have to have some kind of remote access in the first place like permission from your to grant them this access to remote access your PC, at least something that grant remote control access. Knowing your IP only will not give them remote access, as even if they try to connect to you, your device still need to have something to reply back, but in most cases or by default anyways it's a denial / ignore request as wasn't granted permission.

Example team viewer you give someone permission by using that software, so when they connect using the Team viewer code to access your active room they can gain access, of course there's protocols, which there view only, and "RCA" remote control access. Different is one is send only, other is send, and receive. Anyways knowing IP alone will not grant them send or receive, nor will they get send either, if wasn't granted permission in the first place.

Another example is running servers, despite giving access, they're limited to what can be done which is a control permission, so they're only allowed to do for what the rules, and such were placed such as Minecraft, CSGO, or etc... The only way they can RCA is if they're able to bypass rules, and protocols, which are exploits hackers use to RCA devices, if they even know about it in the first place at all how to do it, as just doing it is easier said than done.

TL:DR
Q1. Yes P2P always will do it.

Q2. There no need to worry when you remote play with your friends, and family.
