i'm missing a friend's old messages
i'm missing a friend's old messages he is offline for 2 years and idon't have any clue where is he now in the life .. i want to restore our chat messages pls

Chats older than two weeks are not accessible, that's just the way things are.
In the auth app you likely can see older ones.

Steam service stores your chat message online, last for only two weeks. People upload pictures, videos to the chat, and does a lot of texting on the service, to combat against space being taken up, is simply delete in two weeks time, and limit how many messages you can post at a given period.

If you use the Steam guard mobile authenticator app, it has a cache which stores your chat on your device locally, do note by deleting, or clearing the app from the device also rids of the cache which stores the history chat on your device. The chat history last forever until cache is deleted, or removed. Since you said you deleted it, you got rid of your cache.

i haven't used steam auth app ever .. so there is no way i can get back old messages. sadly. i hope someday i meet him again thx guys for trying to help

I dont use chat in Steam mobile app, but if I open any chat in it, its have history of half a year old messages. Its not stored locally.
