How to stop Steam from popping up and interrupting my game?
Today I was playing GTR2, and in the middle of the game, it minimized (I thought at first it was a CTD), I was at the desktop, then a Steam message popped up something about some squad game that I had no idea I was even following.
Thank goodness I was only in practice mode, but if this would have happened during a race, I guess I would have been screwed.
My question is, how do I turn off these types of notifications so I don't have Steam sending me some important message in the middle of a game?

Thanks!

Have in mind by disabling annoucements/notices you will no get news from updates or events of the games you have & follow ,groups , friends online or playing, invites, etc:

1. Launch the Steam app on your computer.

2. On the top-left corner of the screen, click "Friends," then click on "View Friends List."

3. Click on the icon shaped like a gear, which will allow you to manage your friends list.

4. On the left hand side of the screen, click "Notifications."

5. Once the "Notifications" page appears, uncheck the boxes next to each notification you wish to not receive.

It Disrupts Gameplay, & is very Annoying, & also very Distracting for Gamers...

I would hate if my Games had started doing this, too...

I guess this means that there is no way to stop it. Unfortunate.

It's not working at all, My games become complitly unplayable. That's real stupid, because, now is the only way to play games without notifications - playing pirate version...
