(SOLVED) Pictures/icons not loading no matter what i do
just yesterday steam was working perfectly fine until i had to restart it, thats when just about every picture stopped loading completely eg. my profile picture, friend's profile pictures, achievement icons and game thumbnails on the store.
i've looked up and tried pretty much everything including restarting my pc, restarting steam, clearing my browser cache and cookies, running steam://flushconfig, checking if it's being blocked by firewall, checked my anti virus.
one thing that i did notice however is that its something related to my network/wifi since the problem also started happening on my brother's computer and on my phone. and when i disconnected from my wifi and used mobile data instead, it surprisingly started working again.
im not all that experienced with network issues but one thing that i do know that i haven't tried is changing my DNS, could that be the problem? and are there any other solutions to this? any help is appreciated, thanks.

EDIT: solved it, apparently it was a DNS problem. i was using Google's DNS server because of a few problems i had with discord a while back (the problem i had with discord was very similar to steam, where pictures and pfps never loaded) but when i switched from google's DNS to having it pick a server address automatically, it fixed the problem. and no, discord didn't mess up again. so if you're experiencing the same problem as i am and you're using google's DNS. try switching back from it. And if you were never using a different DNS in the first place, maybe try switching to google's. Incase you don't know how to switch DNS server addresses, you can use this step by step tutorial from google https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using

Either a Steam problem where you just wait or your Lan/W-Lan is used somehow and can't download these "extras". Perhaps just the Steam game updates? They do that for me at least.
Or do you have Blizzard's, Origin's, Gog's, Epic's or someone else's launcher updating in the background? There is a reason people hate it when games are exclusive to a launcher :-(

it isn't a steam problem since i've been wating for about 3 days now and no, my connection isn't being used up by anything else whether it being downloading or updating. and even if i was downloading/updating something, my internet connection is good enough for it to load a few images whilst that is happening

Because dns-mx record is dropped by server then it cant keep up, this is nothing new, and why use own ISP dns server is seen as spreadout policy.

you need a DNS server master or educate in Domain server to know this just a little bit about it.
you wont find many here there is and also is a gamer, and read here.
you might be lucky if a linux geek know, but dont count on it. ( he still need DNS server insight )

you need to have read last 2 years post here, if you are lucky read my post about it and i only mention it few times.

and steam is not a ISP, they will not see it as a steam issue AT ALL.
