Microphone quality issues on Skype, but no issues on Discord
Before I get a lecture about why I shouldn't use skype, the only reason that I use it atm is because Discord drops my FPS really bad when using my webcam (and yes ive tried disabling hardware acceleration already...didnt help at all)

When i use my microphone with discord, the quality is crispy and clear, but when i use the same mic on skype, the quality is terrible, telephone quality terrible. My voice comes across as muffled and lacking clarity, similar to the mics that come with an xbox. My friends have no issues with their mics, only suffering a minor loss of quality between discord and skype.

Any suggestions on how to fix? I've tried using the windows store version as well as the desktop version from the website. I have a Behringer XM8500 running through an audio interface. All drivers are up to date. I've tried disabling automatic microphone adjustment settings on skype...that didn't help either :/

AFAIK, Skype requires a lot more bandwidth and basically works fundamentally different than Discord 'under the hood' so to speak. It could be that your connection doesn't allow for Skype to use more bandwidth for higher fidelity sound coming from you, and Discord doesn't have this problem because it uses less resources.

You could look into other alternatives if you can't get skype or Disc working for you. Mumble is pretty easy to set up and you can even host your own server pretty easily on your own system if you just port forward.

Probably will need to get on a Skype support board to get any real support for that program though, I'd wager that most people here don't use it at all and won't be super familiar with it.
