Why doesn't the web version of Steam have "remember this browser" option?
I'm increasingly annoyed at having always entering my password AND mobile authenticator (steam guard) code whenever I want to do anything remotely important. Yes, I want to be able to do stuff via browser because it's faster and more convenient than the client in many respects. Why can Google remember this browser but Steam can't?

What is it that you’re trying to do? Trade or use the market?

Your browser can remember your community login for posting in the forums, uploading content, etc. assuming you check the box to save the info.

There doesn't appear to be any checkbox on the website's login page any more...

It happens whenever I want to buy a game OR even download free content, like a mod for a game I already own. The latter seems just silly.

Are you deleting your cookies? Steam can't remember anything if you delete its memory.

I have a feeling that it may depend on your geographic location. I don't have the checkbox at all - not on my desktop through Firefox Quantum or Edge and not on my iPhone's Safari.

It should not be region dependent.

I agree, it shouldn't but I have no other logical explanation.

Anything in the browser settings preventing you from saving logins on websites?

Don't forget that when you clear your cookies, broswer cache, it removes your login info.
cSg|mc-Hotsauce Sep 29, 2018 @ 4:55pm
The checkbox would still be there regardless of cookie deletion.

Yes, that would be correct.

That's what we're trying to figure out. Why it does not show up.

Me? I've got 'Do Not Track' turned on but that's it. Tried turning Tracking Protection off in Firefox but to no effect - still no checkbox.

Just wondering. Didn't think there was a setting that would remove the code from the page.
