My friend can't connect his phone to his account.

whenever he tried he gets this message:
"There have been too many attempts to add a phone number to this account. Please only add phones that you own and try again in 1 week."
he waited a week and it didn't help, he got in contact with steam support and they didn't help.
any one had this problem and managed to get it fixed?, it only seems to happen with his phone number, because with mine it worked.

is he actually trying to add is REAL phone number? or is he trying to add some fake online-phone number from one of those services that lets you use a temp number for a small amount of time when you don't want to give a website your real number? Or is he trying to add a VOIP number?

i guess you may not know these answers for your "friend" and your friend could lie to you about the origins of the number thay are trying to add anyways...

Maybe have your friend here post themselves? Dunno.

He's English is too bad to have a coherent sentence, he is using his real number, he is not using any fake number.
his account has knives and ♥♥♥♥ and he needs to protect it but can't...
