Why doesn't steam accept my new debit card?
I recently got a new card yesterday. Signed it up for online purchases and did the activation. Ive made sure to put in all my details exactly as they are on card. No errors, I've made sure of this. Yet it still gives me an error. What am I doing wrong.

Its a Mastercard
Debit
From Capitec Bank

Please Help with this

Your purchase has not been completed. Your credit card information has been declined by your credit card company due to insufficient funds in the account.

Note that in some cases, your credit card company may put a 'hold' on funds in your account, but you will not be charged.

I havent even purchased anything, its just setting up the new card, I also checked with bank, there are no hold on any funds. All processes have been completed

WELL, the message is rather clear, its a funds question. First of all, is it a prepaid credit card or a real one? Second, is this a domestic card or an international card? Third, dont multipost.

I have fund's on my card, it's a debit card not credit and it's a Mastercard, so im assuming it's international, since the same card works on PSN and Takealot etc

Use the card when youre actually goimg to use it, that is buyimg stuff. See what happens then. And dudex STOP MULTIPOSTING!

[Update] I attempted to make a purchase, I have the required funds for it, more than enough and getting the same error.

Your bank may have set a limitation for your debit card. After reaching certain amount of payments online, bank blocks the card for certain time. Just my guess.

Contact your bank and ask why you cannot use debit card on Steam.

Have to tried enabling International Online Transactions? Those are different from international transactions, call your bank to confirm.

I have since Im able to use other services that operate overseas, like Amazon, Rooster Teeth Store etc without issues.

I checked about any problems or limits, Im still well within my limit and havent done many purchases either
