How to Restore Games on Steam by using CD/DVD as Backup Medium
If you are reading this article it means that you, as well, have backup your Steam games by using CD/DVD and - will also have problem restoring it afterwards. Good thing is I have found a solution for you guys. So here it is:

1.) Insert the disc (CD/DVD) into your disc drive.

2.) Copy the content to [Program Files - Steam - Backups]. Make sure that you have no games backup on that folder. If you have two or more CD/DVD's, copy the content as well on the [Backups] folder.

3.) Open your Steam Client. Click [Backup and Restore Games...] then click [Restore a previous backup]. Steam will automatically detect the game backup on your [Backups] folder. Just click "Next" then wait for your game to finish installing. NOTE: Make sure you restore ONE (1) game at a time.

4.) After you finished installing your game, delete the backups on your [Backups] folder. In that way, you can restore other games as well.

I also have problem restoring games especially when you have two or more folders in a single game. The problem is, steam will download the rest after using the first disc - imagine that in Arma 3 where the game is at least 30 GB. Not cool.

So there you have it. I hope you find this article useful. Good luck!

What problem. Why are you spamming the forum with random stuff that doesn't really help anyone?

What if your cd is broken, and activated on an old account?
