Steam (big picture) keeps asking me to register my xbox controller

Almost everytime I reboot my PC or turn it on Steam keeps asking me to register my XBOX 360
wired controller. It`s been doing it for a few weeks now. Anyone else have this? is it a bug? Also sometimes I have to reset the profile because the controller wont work in games. Once this is done everything works fine.

Same here. Every time i start any game in which i want to play with controller i have to alt+tab go to steam open big picture mode then exit big picture mode, just to make my xbox one controller work. After that i can play with controller but my steam overlay in game doesnt work.

I have the same issue. It's annoying. How do I fix this or troubleshoot this?

I don't know. Do we need to open a ticket with Steam Support? What are some tools we can use to debug Steamclient's workings? Anything to generate a lead would be nice,

Same issue here. Even just restarting Steam does it. I also have to kill Steam to play any non-Steam game with a controller as otherwise Steam seems to override things.

Getting the same issues here, disabling Xbox Configuration Support in Big Picture>Controller Settings seems to fix it, dunno if disabling generic gamepad configuration support helps either, but it's worth a shot.
