You can thank my university for such expensive tuition fees. So if I put up with this bullcrap for almost a week pretty sure you can put up with a few hours installing these games. I recommend you play Portal 1 first to grasp the fundamentals then play Portal 2; also warning you barely anybody plays co-op so wait at evening to night hours when kids are around.
Look I can sympathize with you too as Steam is so freaking slow even with high speed internet and SSD. It's just how it is since Valve only cares about CSGO and TF2! Even before with my HDD, I only experienced slowdowns with Steam while other programs like Microsoft Office and Firefox were fine. Oh, and make sure no other programs are running in the background unless of course they are essential for your PC to function.
B) If it was a few hours I wouldn't have come here. It's much worse. I put it up for the whole night and woke up to find that portal didn't even get half downloaded while portal two is on 1 gbs. You see, my problem is much bigger than a few hours.
C) I kinda kinda (really sorry if I sound rude) kinda came here to fix the problem not talk about your miserable life (gl tho) ;-;
Also what can you tell me more about portal, what do you mean no one plays its co-op .........
EDIT: just noticed the last paragraph not sure idk if it was there before anyway: How can microsoft office slow you down lol. Fox yeah that thing is a real pc killer.... Oh and yeah my internet is naturally slow like i think its 1.5mb/s but that's pretty much a lie. (as it's much lower)
What im looking for is something, some button or so that would force download a certain game not pausing and switching into others when it feels like it.
Damn is it just the internet speed or is it your hard drive as well? If it's the hard drive that is super slow or is very old, try to get a SSD or solid state drive like me. Also try getting better internet but I highly doubt these options are possible for you. I'm not a super expert in computers so you'd have to ask this topic in the Hardware section.
Portal 2 not only has single player and challenge maps like its prequel, but also co-op and test chambers. Co-op allows you to play as a robot with another person playing as another robot (you'll find out their names when you play). The levels you play in co-op are entirely different although inspired by the levels from single player. You need your teammate in order to solve most puzzles and the story is also different than single player.
Test chambers lets you play, design, and submit your own or other people's custom levels! However it takes a lot of time and dedication to build them and be sure to back them up (as well as all of your PC stuff) on to an external HDD or USB. I never backed my stuff up so even though I can play my own levels I can't edit them anymore.
Im pretty sure its my internet but ah I'll check that out as well. Though again what did you mean by no one plays the co-op and kids play at night (?)
Also was portal bundle in your opinion worth buying to play with friends?
