Saved Game??

I played dead island for the last 5 hours in single player mode, the wifi is off so i can't connect to steam. When launch, there was a warning the progress couldn't be sycnhed if not online and data might be lost, therefore launch the game offline anyway because single player mode exist. After 5 hours of playing, saving money and looting ingredient, I quit and notice that the continue is not available. Now I'm a little bit frustrated and tired. Is it true I cannot save my game while offline, I mean like local save game in my PC, then save it in steam cloud when I'm online? Is this online save thingy apply with other games too? Is there any way I can save my dead island game progress while offline??

yah you can save it offline but it will try to sync with cloud when you get online so turn cloud save off right click on game then go to properties and find steam cloud.
