by the Mod's. For me it has been weeks, i even paid a pro to examine
my setup P.C. Network connection Etc and he told me it was a steam issue.
The funny thing was he had it on his steam acc as well Lol.
So it is now fairly widespread, i thought at first it was a "local" server thing
but it seems "across the board" Steam support will not accept the facts
and continue to deny any server or bug issues.
And also the whole client window was broken. very long delays when moving it over the desktop. and it even didn't react when I was trying to close by right clicking the taskbar.
cpu under 10%, 12gb free ram, no high hdd usage by other processes, everything else worked fine. was even able to start non steam games and play smooth.
had to use the taskmanager to stop it.
when I restarted steam and pc nothing got better.
Had 3 or 4 games updating and no chance to stop the downloads at steam. so finally I was waiting for the downloads to end.
after that the client worked normal as ever, no more issues.
Don't think you got updates downloading for days. But there's definitely sth wrong.
I know what it's like when there are server issues, but never had the whole client behaving like this.
What we have now is the worst running client in ten years.
They won't get to ignore this though. Not if it's a widespread issue. Replying for the sake of a bump. Paying customers are entitled to some answers.
1. This sounds very much like a computer or game issue. My Steam client has never caused any of my games to freeze or lag in the 13+ years I've used Steam.
2. Mods don't move or delete threads as part of some forum-wide conspiracy. If there was a conspiracy then they wouldn't be moving threads which would still be visible on the forums.
This is akin to those copypasta posts on Facebook that say "Share this before it gets deleted again!" and it's a link to a 5 year old youtube video that has never been deleted.
Threads are moved if they are posted in the wrong or inappropriate forum. They are deleted if they violate forum rules, typically profanity, harassment, trolling, spamming, etc.
Also, can you give any examples of these moved threads?
3. @OP the following may help with your startup issues.
-Follow these steps. This may fix startup issues.
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3134-TIAL-4638
-Ensure Steam Client Bootstrapper is not disabled in your startup processes
-If you're using Win10 and running the Steam client as admin you may need to disable run as admin from the Steam executable.
To save time, what else have you already tried to fix it?
Up to this point, I've tried disabling the client bootstraper on startup. I have the windows 10 desktop lag issue, but that's always been circumvented by opening an app. I'm going to try Malakite's suggestion and use the beta version.
Neither clearing the download cache, or switching to the steam client beta have alleviated me of my issue.
