Mouse scroll wheel in-game is horrendously slow and laggy
About a month and a half ago, my mouse started acting up. I usually use my scrolling wheel up for jumping in games like CS:GO, Dirty Bomb and really any fps. And scroll wheel down is usually to whip out melee.
Besides working fine since i got the mouse around 2 years ago, the scroll wheel started lagging in the sense that, vertical scrolling would barely register. It'd take about 4 scrolls to get the wheel to going for 1 action and it's perplexing as to what the problem is. I don't know if I even have the option to update a driver for the mouse, to change mouse settings, or to mess with files related to the mouse, windows or the games i play.
I don't have the money to get a new mouse so, that's off the table.
I have changed my mouse settings for the wheel category numerous times and it doesn't help at all. I have tried seeing if it's about the mouse's drivers but windows doesn't have the option to update mine.
I need help as quickly as possible! Any advice, other than 'Get a new mouse' or 'Use different in-game settings to play', is greatly appreciated.

Does this problem happen constantly with all actions involving the scroll wheel? Outside of games while navigating windows etc.
Test it on another Pc(if available to isolate driver malfunction)
Please tell us the make and model of your problem mouse. (Mabye you can get it RMAed if is under warranty)

I know you specifically said not to say this but unfortunately it sounds like the scroll wheel is simply broken and you may have to replace your mouse in the future.

Just increase the scroll line speed in Windows > Mouse
Just test it after a change, cause too high and it won't be good.
Like too high scroll line # and it will jump around; like selecting weapons in Half Life for example.

But yea if you're using a no-name junk mouse; or a very old one, maybe time to get a good one. Like anything Logitech wired

Thanks for replying.
Yes, the lag for the scroll wheel input is noticeable on Windows, outside of games.
I got this mouse from my cousin and its a Gear Head Lighted Optical Mouse OM3800U. I have this mouse because i goes with the cheap setup for my laptop i use for gaming. It's not the nicest hardware but it gets the job done most of the time.
It says that it's under life-time warranty, but i doubt my cousin still has the reciept for the mouse or the box.

I will try to increase the vertical scrolling lines. RIght now, it's defaulted to 3.

Yea I have tried ones like Gear-Head before; nothing but junk that lives a short life.

Ok try the Scroll # on like 6

Test it via Websites where you have a long scroll period... as a means of testing it.

XD
I know but beggers can't be choosers. I wasnt begging in that situation but I didn't exactly have a gaming setup but my cousin offered it to me for free. I didnt turn it down. And suprising, it did it's job quite well up until a month and a half ago.
