So - FPSs.
Obvious choice would be Borderlands franchise. If you wait for the next major sale you might be able to pick up original, Borderlands 2, and Borderlands the PreSequel plus expansions for circa $15.
Depth. Four divers versus two sharks. Great combat game. Retails at circa $5.00 in the sales.
Far Cry franchise. The original is brutally difficult but Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 are particularly highly rated.
CS:GO. About $10 in the sales. Vies with DOTA 2 for the most toxic community on Steam but it's the second most played game on Steam for a reason.
Payday 2. Community nearly as bad but an interesting premise.
GTA 3 onwards. Some people, like me, find it slightly nausea inducing to play as a passenger in a normal car driving through a neighbourhood that looks like real world neighbourhoods gunning down young men because they happen to belong to a different gang. If that doesn't bother you they are classics.
Doom franchise. The oldest are prehistoric in computer game terms but they're damn fine shooters.
Call of Duty franchise. Tend to be expensive for their age but they are good games.
Modern Warfare franchise. Similar to Call of Duty. Call of Duty is generally rated higher but Modern Warfatre is cheaper.
Arma franchise. More "realistic" modern warfare.
I didn't see Team Fortress 2 in your inventory. May have missed it. Personally I rate this as the best FPS of all time and it's free.
Extending your range - Batman Arkham Asylum (platformer/ stealth/ hand to hand combat) and Sleeping Dogs (detective/ hand to hand combat) are both worth a look and should be cheap in the next sales.
I'd recommend patience with that money. Wait for games in the sale and that $50 will get you a lot of top quality games. It's worth checking in on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for the Steam sales. Sometimes the deals are better than the major sales - sometimes.

There tends to be a big sale around Halloween - mainly horror and superhero games.
Historically they've had a very big sale (official name Late Autumn sale) on the last weekend in November. This ties in with Thanksgiving in the USA and Black Friday - the pre Christmas sales weekend. This usually duplicates the Winter sale a month later.
Every week about 200 - 400 mainly indie games go on sale for a week each Monday. Then on Tuesday there's a midweek sale and then on Thursday there's the weekend sale - often a developer or studio or themed sale. There's also a daily deal.
