No. Only EA games bought through the Steam Store can be activated through this platform.

Generally the answer is no, you can't migrate games between platforms like that. This isn't a new thing, so I'm not sure why people are confused by it. If you buy a game on Ubisoft's UPlay, or if you buy a game directly from the Rockstar Launcher, you don't get a free copy on Steam... Yes, if you buy the game on Steam, the launcher for those games still ends up being required generally.

EA is just following the existing standard used by lots of publishers with their own launchers that also sell games on Steam.

Just like the dozens of other threads to this question, the answer is still no.
While EA is now selling their games on Steam, they simply only allow the activation of product keys on their own platform, Origin.

Origin is buggy AF! Sometimes it doesnt work and crashes. My preference is to have Origin games on steam without Origin running in the background. Should i just place the Origin games in Steam using the locate game shortcuts so that it can be added into the list of games on steam? furthermore will running them make origin run in the background? Anybody have a good setup to mange ALL these games on Steam. I getting confused having them on different drives and not on steam.

That would just create a shortcut and wouldn't change anything about the license, or it's reliance on Origin.

If the game requires origin, yes. Most EA games sold on Steam still require origin. As I explained in my first post.

I'm playing Jedi Fallen Order purchased on Steam, as part of the launching process it runs Origin. No way to prevent that if you want to play the game.

Buy them on Steam. You can install them on the same drives... regardless though.

That's not how EA offers their games, so that's it.

You're barking up the wrong tree in more ways than one, even -- Steam doesn't decide these things (they COULD change their rules and disallow 3rd party DRM in the future, but that's unlikely), and this a user forum so neither Steam nor EA are reading this.

Only once I managed to activate an Origin game on steam and that was with Tomb Raider YEARS ago and maybe also had to do that TR was not an EA game at all

Then you have to talk to EA to ask them to create a version which does not run through Origin.

Fancy your chances for that?
nahhh you can't

Might be worth checking out EA Desktop, they've pretty much abandoned Origin and are phasing it out for this
