I requested a refund 17 hours ago and it got neither accepted nor declined
The ticket just sits there with "open" status. Haven't played the game for more than 2h, bought it a couple of days ago. I usualy get info about whether I will get rhe refund or not within 2h. Also, my friend requested a refund around the same time and got it accepted within 1,5h. Is this a bug or something?

Means case review has not been seen yet.

Redoing the ticket only resets you in queue line making you wait longer.

There is an ongoing Summer Sale, so the support is extra busy

Don't feel bad, I have had a refund request ongoing for 1 day and 9 hours now.

Here is some good news, my refund just happened about 15 minutes ago.
If you've had the game in your steam library for a week or two before you requested the refund they won't accept it.

Not true.

This is the policy states.
- No longer than 2 hours of gameplay.
- No longer than 14 days from purchase.

Steam support does waiver the policy, but doesn't happen all the time, and shouldn't be expected either. Most often you get the automated system if you meet the requirement policy, but otherwise you may get handled by a person if outside the policy.

ive had games in my library for more than 2 weeks and had more than 2 hours of playtime in it, know how i get a refund on those? i just say i bought the game on accident or say the game glitched and was stuck open. valve has a very lenient and i tend to buy games and use them as a demo and if i dont like it i just refund it. (although i have started getting emails about excessive refunds, LOL)
Or watch youtube to see gameplay...

Anyways refunds are not meant for demos, if you abusing games for free rides, and demos of course you would get an alert / notice about it. Yes Steam does have the right to black list you if they deem you to be an abuser to the service for free games.

You can still refund request no matter what, but don't expect to get a refund if you broke the refund policy as it's their choice at that point if you're pass the refund policy.

If you have started getting emails (as in, more than one) about excessive refunds, you will learn very soon that Valves refund policy is not as lenient as you think and that you were the one who didn't use it as you should have. The third email like that is usually the last and after that you won't get any refund at all.

Videos dont let you know how the game feels, if i went off that i would be stuck with elder scrolls online based off its reviews. refunded that game within 2 hours and glad i did so. anyway as soon as i got an email about too many refunds i went about 2 months without a refund and bought a bunch of games without refunds, before that i had refunded about 5/10 games i had bought in a week

Fair enough, but just wanted to give you that heads up about this so you don't end up getting restricted. Video gameplay does help give idea what kind of gameplay you may encounter within the game before buying, or even a better understanding of the game as well.

Don't be surprised if Steam takes away your ability to do any refunds now.
You've been abusing the system far too long.
How have I abused it?
Trifuser Jul 5, 2020 @ 10:12am
I am aware, but its not like i refund every game i buy. I own 150 games so i obviously dont refund often. There was that one month where i ended up refunding about 5 games (all highly rated games) in a week which is why i got that email.
Trifuser Jul 5, 2020 @ 10:18am
1 of them ran like garbage, one of them didn't play like i thought it would, none of my friends bought one of the other ones so theres 3 refunded, didnt have time for the other 2 and needed the money back so i refunded them too.
