No.
2 transactions cannot be digitally applied for 2 different sources..
I think you already knew this.
Also dont use your wallet to gift .
Buy one for yourself from wallet then complete it then use your credit card to gift the same game. 2 separate transctions.

They are two separate items [Two different games] I wish to buy one Item for a friend and another Item for myself and share the total in one transaction. I imagine you aren't able to do this, however it would be nice....

I own the gift item already, however if I purchase it again, will it create a trade-able item in my inventory or will I just have wasted my money?

Depends on the game, if this game has a buy one get one free such as don't starve together, then you may get the extra copy as an inventory item to trade or give. Most games do not do this.

Game bundles that sells get 2 or more copies those you have to gift on the spot to your friends as those are items do not go into your inventory.
