First you must redeem gift card to put its value into your steam wallet. On the back of your card above bar code you scratch off the material to reveal code. The code should be 15 characters with letters and number in this pattern XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX . When this is done log into steam and find menu item "Games" at top. Click Games/Redeem a Steam wallet code and enter code in field and click continue. If you get invalid code it means you inputted a character incorrectly so check that you did not use 0 in place of O, or B instead of 8 etc. If code is accepted you should see new wallet amount at top right by your profile name.

To use funds you select title you want and add to cart. At checkout you choose wallet as method of payment and the total will subtract when you continue with sale.
