PS4 Controller Stops Internet

Greetings everybody!
My issue with my PS4 controller is that whenever i connect to my laptop wirelessly, it completly disables my internet, however, only for my laptop, as my phone seems to connect to the internet just fine.
Also using it with the PS4 cable works just fine.
I have an old-ish router, but it never did this before, so i'm a bit lost.
I'm not quite sure what might cause this problem, so any info could be useful.

i don'T know much about PS4 stuff (PC gamer). but if controller uses wifi instead of bluetooth (which i guess will be the case). then your wifi gets off and hotspot gets on. so if laptop is connected with wifi. then is will be disconnected to connect with controller to use it with Hotspot network.
if this is the case. connect laptop to internet via network cable and things will be fine.
"Laptop can't use both Wifi & Hotspot at same time (for different purposes in Windows 10 case)"
it allows its internet connected wifi to share via hotspot. but it can't allow internet and a hotspot device connection at same time.
i hope this clears the situation.

DS4 uses BT.

As far as i know it does indeed use BT but it seems as if it "locks" my internet away, because as soon as i disconnect the controller my internet immediately comes back, like nothing ever happened.
Could be my router pulling some shenanigans as it is old and a bit on the cheap side.

Hey, its been awhile since you posted this, and I wanted to know if you still have this problem, because I have this problem right now and cant do nothing about it, my controller worked once well, but since then it didnt work anymore, and I cant remember what did I do to put it working, would be great if you could help me :D

Check if you are using 3th party drivers, like motionjoy or DS4windows.

Infact, you don't need these drivers at all. Uninstall it, restart your pc and use Steam big picture and setup your controller from there. Try use a micro USB cable as a first step, then for step 2 look into playing wireless with the official Playstation drivers.

I just run into this issue, what fixed it for me was switching my wlan connection from 2.4 GHz to 5Ghz.

If you use the ds4 app for connecting it or another driver, uninstall it, restart your computer and use the remotto app: {LINKKI POISTETTU}https://remottobattery.com/pages/remotto-app

First open the app and then connect your controller, cause if you connect your controller first the wifi turns off. Thats how i solved it, hope everyone here find a solution.
