Steam asked for refresh login

So about 10 minutes ago someone sent me a link and because I didn't want to risk it I've used a vpn to prevent him to track my ip or something and after 5 minutes when i'm back at steam store page , Steam asked for my credentials , and I'm worried because I don't know if it's because of the vpn or the link ? Any ideas why steam requested my credentials ?

This link you used, did you type all your info? Account name, password, Steam guard code?

No this is a missunderstanding , i didn't entered the credentials on the site , the site told me i get error 404 and on the steam application asked for the credentials

It could've been due to the VPN.

Check for anything suspicious at support > my account > data related to the account > recent login history & computer names.

Ok so , someone connect from a city from my country , and I m pretty sure it's not me , I've changed my password right now and i actually seen a connect 2 days before on 17 june from a different city again , what can i do and is there a possibillity those are valve servers or something

Did that link you were sent contain a Steam login?

no it was a site that i can send it wo you in private if you want , it's not a link it's a site that i've copied and pasted in google , and the steam refresh login appeared after but it apeared on my steam app

If the cities you see are close then is probably a failure in the geolocation system.

Edit. Check also the computer names to make sure it's you.

hmm idk it says from bucharest now and i have on random days on timisoare (another city in my country) and from another they are almost everytime a different one
