Steam keeps putting me offline
It seems like multiple times a day it puts me offline for no reason and I have to manually switch my status back to online in the friends tab. Googling the problem gave some threads with useless answers - assuming your internet or steam is down. My internet and/or steam don't go down multiple times a day. I am online, steam is online, it lists me as offline in my friends list without me manually toggling it.

So I've switched to linux since last commenting on this thread, and it still happens there. The issue must be with Steam itself. I don't see this being an issue with anything else other than Steam.

It's still happening several years later as well.

you have steam event sale ongong now. ( ISP's network congesstion is a possibilities, you can try change steam DL zone, but that will not help if it is your ISP that is the bottleneck , and try see its a matrix , you try avoid heavy loaded area, into whatever steam dl server, this will not help if it is your ISP that is the weakest link, or should i said many user that try DL same time.

and yes complain to own ISP, what if they dont know or know who down the line is the bottleneck a ISP partner maybe.

learn what steam event sale is then you get it and see it as a black friday sale event then you get this better, we as user just start to see the clues over many years,
and why will a ISP make fiber highway better with a temporary steam sale , the ugly truth about see things from 2 sides.

So yeah steam download cue is a reality , not because steam cant keep up, its the ISP down the line that is the weakest link, and that why we dont have steam DL cue i bet,
i have no issue one day a ISP dare say its steam server that is the weakest link and cant keep up. ( i see things from network point of view not ISP or steam side. huge diffrence )
and here i and other is only a user or gamer at steam in this forum.
we are not support here either.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
