Xbox One Wireless Adapter keeps disconnecting when I'm playing a game

I have a brand new xbox one controller and wireless adapter. They can connect just fine , and will stay connected so long as I'm not playing a game. However when I play a game, after a few seconds the controller gets disconnected from the adapter. I've tried every solution I could find in the forums (uninstalling Geforce Experience, unchecking all options in controllers, changing to a usb 2.0 port, updating drivers etc) but its just not working. The controller can work fine when its connected via bluetooth so i know its not the controllers problem, and it can stay connected to the adapter when doing anything other than playing a game in steam. Anyone has any idea what is causing this and how to fix?

Update: For anyone who might have this problem, I managed to fix it by attaching a usb extender to the back of my desktop and placing the adapter directly in front of me. I dont understand why this works since the distance that I'm playing from is exactly the same (maybe 7 feet) and when I put the adapter at the front of the desktop it doesnt work either but I guess whatever works. So if anyone else has a problem try plugging a usb extender

I personally play with a 360 controller and when I have this experience it’s because the battery moved very very slightly on the back of the controller. The moving we all tend to do when gameing would make this happen. Maybe a new battery? Sorry I could offer more help.

Hey thanks for the reply I dont think its the battery cause when I connect via bluetooth it works fine. Anw I found a fix somehow so all is good thanks

I explained in the original post with an update on how I fixed it. I used a usb extender and plugged the adapter in there
