PC Headset Problems

Okay, so this is for people who play or use PC, I used a headphone and microphone splitter for my headset, I had a PS4 Headset with one cord and because pc always has the Headphone and Microphone Jack seperate, so if I plugged the headset into the headphone jack I could hear but couldn't talk, vice versa with the mic jack, so I got a splitter and it's a cord basically that you plug your headset into and it has 2 jacks, 1 for headset and 1 for mic, so you can use headsets with only 1 jack on a pc with 2 jacks, but now it broke and I have been using my headset without a mic for a few days and I don't get paid for another month and I need a mic fast to talk to my friends on games so I found another headset in my house without a mic on it and I tried today to plug that into the headset and then my other headset with the mic into the mic jack, so i can hear from the headset and the other one I can talk, only the mic isnt picking up my voice, its the place you put the mic into, it's a turtle beach with a detachable mic and because it's not coming from the actual plug in mic but just the part it plugs into, the quality is really quiet and bad, If anyone knows what to do, please let me know thanks.

Just open your windows search engine and type set up micrphone and also do another search and type fix audio background play and it will automatically find the problem in your operating system and fix it.
