Low download speed in Steam around 500-600KB/s Help pls

hi my ISP is PLDT (Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company)
and im using FIBER with 5MB/s download speed
my Steam download peak speed is 624.7 KB/s
i already tried setting the bandwith to no limit
i changed download region to singapore
i still get 500KB/s to 600KB/s
is there anyone who could help?

5 Megabits is equal to roughly 625 KB/sec.

You’re just confusing megabits with megabytes.

The peak speed registered by your ISP and the download peak you receive are 2 different numbers. My ISP package is 7Mb/s down/2Mb/s up. My download speed peaks around 800KB/s, both within Steam, and generally around the internet when downloading something.

The ISP package is measures in bits (thus the lowercase b in Mb), while download speeds while streaming are measures in bytes (thus the uppercase B in KB). 8bits = 1 byte, so those 2 numbers will read differently, while being the same (and correct) speed you should be receiving. If the ISP sold you a package saying it was megabytes, then they either lied or got the terminology wrong (which is most likely IMO).

There are a couple conversion charts out in the internet if you Google for them. :)
