Does setting status to "offline" in friends disable play hours / achievements?

I'm NOT talking about offline mode. If I go to Friends > "Offline" and start up a game, will Steam still count my play hours and any achievements I make in that session? Sometimes I just wanna play a game with one or two friends without being bugged or "sabotaged".

Steam offline mode sometimes records the hours/achieves, sometimes not

But if you just set your status as offline theyll always work correctly
