Disabling "Guide button focuses steam" does nothing.
When I press my DS4 guide button, Steam is focused, and if I press it again, BPM starts. There's a option under Controller Settings called "guide button focuses steam" that should make this stop if unchecked, but doesn't matter if it's disabled or not, steam is still being focused when I press the guide button.

I've already tried to disable my DS4 configuration support and everything, enabling and disabling Xbox DVR, nothing works. Is there anyone else with the same problem? Any fix?

Thanks

I have the same problem and I REALLY get ANGRY about THIS.

VALVE: FIX THIS! THIS REALLY GOT ON MY NERVES! I WASTED TWO HOURS TRYING TO FIX IT! JUST GIVE ME THE OPTION TO DISABLE THE HOME BUTTON! I DONT WANT STEAM BIG PLAY - I DONT EVEN USE THIS - TO OPEN EVERY TIME I PRESS IT! AND I NEED TO PRESS IT, BECAUSE I USE RETROARCH!

FIX IT ALREADY!

I'd love for this option to be functioning as well. I currently use DS4Windows to manage my controller, and due to the amount of time spent programming profiles, I do not wish to abandon the program to use the Steam app instead.

I am glad you have the option available to disable to the Guide Button Focus Steam function, however; it does not work with my controller at this time and I have not yet figured out how to disable it while using my DS4Windows setup.

Same here. Box only stays un-checked for maybe a day, and then the check mark comes back again. Stop hijacking my controller!

Same here. God knows how much I love steam but this is REALLY getting me angry. I'm using a windows steam machine with steam but also other multimedia softwares for matching my shows etc and I need the guide button to be CLEAN and to NOT START STEAM. Seriously guys, can't you fix that ?

Funny thing is that at first I had a really hard time to get the guide button to actually work in steam. Now I have the same issues trying to disable it when using other software like Launchbox Big Picture + RetroArch... Not sure if I should laugh or cry,
Please fix!

Funny, with the new UI update. this functionality is no longer working for me and unlike you lot, I actually want it to work. it serves it's purpose for the time being until I find a solution that allows similar functionality but to be client agnostic, so I can switch between other launchers with ease...

Even to this day I still have to go in and uncheck the box. Seems after every random update it resets. My issue is that I stream my xbox to my pc sometimes so I use the button regularly.
Here it is another year later, and I am unable to prevent the guide button on any controller from opening BPM.
Tested with XOne, DS4v2, Switch Pro, and Steam controllers.
