Do usb hubs affect latency
im running out of usb ports and i was going to buy a usb hub to plug my mouse and my keyboard into, do usb hubs affect latency of 1khz mice?

Generally, they shouldn't. But, depending on the power draw of the devices, you may need an active hub. Keyboard and mouse should be fine as they don't use a lot.
