Stuck "updating Steam information"
Steam refuses to start since this morning. Whenever I start my computer I have to manually kill the Steam.exe process because it hangs with no visible windows. I start it manually (both with and without admin mode) and it just says "connecting to steam account: XXX" and never progresses.

I've tried restarting my computer already and it didn't help.
I've tried adding -tcp to the shortcut and it didn't help either.
I've tried clearing the appcache folder and it didn't help.

That was exactly the problem. First the old Library UI broke Civ 6 after the most recent update and then it broke Steam as a whole. I copied my Common folder elsewhere and reinstalled Steam entirely and it's working now. Though I still hate the new library UI.
