i tried to reinstall the client but no avail
still stuck at "Connecting to Account"
Yeahh, forgot to mention I did that too, even after ending all steam processes it happens again when restarting :/
Good to know I'm not the only one.
And no, force stopping steam from task manager, or flushing steam config does not help
A forced update on WIn10 and then i was stuck on the "connecting Steam account" screen.
Thats crap!
Hope this gets fixed fast.
Wow, that actually fixed it for me! Thank you!
Edit: I fixed this by resetting my router and computer a couple of times, but it is a temporary fix
I knew it was something in the steam directory since booting to a different Windows image still demonstrated the same behavior.
My steamapps folder was too big to easily relocate, so I installed a clean steam installation to a different location and used the files to replace the ones in the problematic folder, (excluding \steamapps and \userdata folders.)
edit: deleted steam.exe and reinstalled it manualy from a usb, it worked after i got it in place
what works for me to start in offline mode is going to adapter settings and disabling every connection (even the bluetooth! lmao)
