keeping alot of money in steam wallet?
I've looked this up and the last time this was asked was back in 2017 and I don't know if anything has changed but is it safe to keep large sums of money (aka 60 - 80 $) in your steam wallet? or is it like paypal where it can screw you over and freeze your money

The only thing that would cause you to not be able to use wallet funds would be a total account lock preventing you from using the market and buying from the store... in which case you've honestly got bigger problems.


Otherwise keep as much as you want and use it when you feel like.

Just remember that wallet funds *are not money*. They are "pending a purchase" - the money's been in Valve's bank ever since you put it in the wallet, and can only ever be used as steam-based 'credit'.

Many years ago, "gift certificates" in store chains generally speaking became 'never expired' - so you've technically already SPENT that money on Steam. It's just waiting for the right thing to be applied to, regardless of how long it's been sitting there.

Yeah thats fine I plan on using it all on steam anyway, just was worried it would freeze my money somehow like what paypal tends to do when keeping large sums of money sometimes.
