~100 Random items in my Steam library - Dedicated servers?
Today, I checked my library, and there are nearly 100 random items in it that I had no idea existed. I only had a few random games in it before this. Now, there are a bunch of things like "Alien Swarm SDK" and "Source SDK Base 2007" and "[Random game] Dedicated Server."

Is this normal? I looked it up online, and people said that you can hide these because they are just tools, but I can't help but be a little bit spooked. It doesn't really make sense to my why these specific things exist in my account, but then again, I don't really know what they are. I'm also weirded out by their sudden appearance since this is the first time I've ever seen anything like them. I'm sure I didn't do anything new to make them visible.

Does anyone else have these? Or know what they are / why they exist for certain games?

Everyone has them when you purchase a game. They're developer tools. SDK stands for software development kit. You likely only recently saw them because one of the filters got allowed to display them. You can hide them again simply by going to your library and under the drop-down menu under the home button, untick "tools"

there is a difference in see tool there, and have it installed.

only very few games ask doing install add toolkit too.
most games dont install uncommon things that most will never use.

ps.
you can say , this is both you are steam faulth for not lookup guide with it.
but ask yourself is it still a good idea to let user free on steam that never have use pc before

sometimes i doubt freewill is any good, we all need some basic info, and you could have avoid this post. ( its have been so as long as steam have been there a tool section. ( sure they change or update and move it. ) but for you this is new stuff.

we are few that think steam need a mini Tutorial and other say NO , there is no easy solution on this. ( im not blaim you or steam ) but you might say missing info on many things on a guide tour as own choise. )

I have over a hundred of these all for games i’ve never played/downloaded/bought. Nor has anyone else on the pc. Is there anyway to get ride of them, there isn’t a delete option. I’m very confused on how they even got there.
