latency Issues
Good after,

I don't know if this is the right place or if somebody knwos about this toppic, but i'm having latency peaks troubles constantly, i cheked the network with other devices and defintly isn't the modem or the ISP. I have optic fiber service with 600mb/100mb, but for some reason JUST my PC have this latency problems with peaks about 500ms when normally i have 15ms. The event lasts about 5 to 100 secs, and it's very frustrating when you are in the middle of a fight. I checked the Resources monitor of windows and it doesn't seems that some process are the responsable of this issue. Any idea? I have W10, thanks for your help.

How do you know it's just your pc that's doing it? Have you tried the same game with another pc on the same internet connection? It's either some other process using the internet or doing something (like an anti-virus doing a scan) or there isn't anything anyone can do about it if it's the latter - the game server you're playing on. The only thing anyone can do about that is suggesting you join and play on a different server.

Because is not just the game, i ran a simultaneous ping test with 4 devices pinging "google" on the same network, at the same place, 2 laptop plus mine (The trouble one) and a Android phone... All they were consistent with a low ping but mine with this "events" of high ping.

How did you run the ping test? With Command Prompt or PowerShell? A 'tool' on the web may not be as accurate as the command. I assume you did it with the commands and also ran a hop (traceroute) test but can't be sure. People do weird things, and don't do things correctly because they truly don't know all the how to's and why's. Even computers sitting right next to each other in the same room on the same network can possibly have different pings because they have different hop routes, even when communicating with each other.

Have you tried the game on a different computer? Do so if you haven't.

Also, as I suggested before it could be something running in the background doing it.

If it does it on another computer, too, it's most likely something nobody can (those who actually can probably won't) do anything about it because it's server side or in the trace route somewhere.

If it does not do it on another computer then it is something that can probably be corrected, most likely by shutting a program that's running in the background down.

Trough the powershell. But i will try with the tracerout. Thanks for your help.
Jack Schitt 2020 年 6 月 6 日 下午 8:17
The command is
tracert [address or IP]
if you didn't know or weren't able to find it.
Example: tracert google.com

Also, another tip that hopefully helps: Since you're questioning the connection to a specific server you want to ping and trace the hop route to that specific server. Pinging some random location in Jabip isn't really testing your connection to THAT server you're questioning....

If you don't know how to find the IP of the server you're joining I'll try to help with that. If it's not a Valve game it might be a little difficult to get an address to trace to but there are command tricks for that too.

By the way, this is not official support. These are user / community forums. If you'd like official help (they may or may not help you in this much detail with testing connections, etc, and just say something to the tune of 'it's your connection to the server'.) click on the Help menu in the Steam Client at the very top of the client's window.

Do try playing the game on a completely different device on the same network, too, if you can.

9.99999999 times out of 10 these issues are on the server end or it has to do with hops or something nobody can do anything about. We're going way too far running connection tests and all that technical nerd stuff. The answer is almost always the most simple one.

The thing is that isn't just the game, i noticed cause the game, but it is with all the incoming outcoming data from this laptop, it's beign really hard to find he issue because sometimes "It happens" sometime not, and it doesn't are related to the time of the day. Also, as i was saying, it gets laggy even to the "Router", all network to this laptop gets laggy and when the "Issue is working" it happen exactly every 360 seconds, 6 minutes in fact. Im even suspecting from Bitdefender. I even forced my router to give me another IP.

You are very kind, thanks for all the help mate.
