Can the valve index use a mini displayport?

The valve index needs a displayport and that is the only port it can use. Can it use the mini displayport?

Here is a thread about Index users talking about which adapter works best and so on.
But like i wrote, should be no problem. The signal is the exact same for display and mini display ports, there is no technical difference except the size.

it has i7 16gb ddr4 ram nvidia geforce gtx 1660 so im pretty sure it's good enough

Wassup! Did you connect valve displayport to your minisplayport through adapter?? I am in the same situation right now. I've got minidisplayport only. I want to connect with adapter. I wrote to valve and they sayd they dont know will this work or no

Sorry dude, I didn't actually get the Valve Index as I was just considering buying it. I decided to get myself an Oculus Rift S instead due to the fact it's way cheaper. If it's any help to you the Rift S works fine with a mini displayport adaptor so I don't see why the Index shouldn't work.
