SLOW PC / LOW CPU USAGE
My pc suddenly runs really slow. It takes 5 minutes to load up any program like chrome, even starting up takes ages. My cpu usage is at 3%, memory at 22%, hard disk (idk the name as my settings are Dutch) 50%, network 0% and gpu at 2%. I have ran a malwarescan but that had no effect. Cant think of any crazy things i installed other than a chrome extension for my background and a chrome extension for dark mode. Note: This is not happening in games, i cant even start those up because it takes ages. Please help its driving me nuts

If you have 2 disk drives and it says 50% then one of the drives are at 100%. Sign of a dying hard drive.
You know random percentages aren't very handy. Because for a Pentium 166 and 32MB of RAM in 2020 that would be a miracle.

So posting your specs would be handy.

What have you ruled out? Heat throttling? Confirmed everything is still configured right in the BIOS? Anything?

Can you post your Dxdiag so we can get an idea what your system is?

Windows+r --> type in "dxdiag" and hit enter --> let it do its loading --> Click "Save all information"

Take that and put it in a Pastebin or just put it here? (dunno how messy it would be if you post it here directly)

Yeah i have an SSD as well so it could be that indeed, how should i fix that?

It would be nice to get that dxdiag

Run some tests on your disks for starters.

Hey!! Totally forgot...
So my friend build this pc and i have the specs on my pc but its almost impossible to reach it because of how slow it is, a few specs i know regardless while some may be incomplete but here is the list:
Ryzen 5 3600 (CPU)
Geforce GTX 1050ti
2x 8GB DDR Ram Corsair (i believe it was 3600mhz?)
MSI TOMAHAWK B450(something...?)
450V power supply
1TB Seagate barracude HDD
Kingston (i think?) 250 GB SSD
I also have 3 arctic fans, or 4, atleast enough to keep it cool

I havent really ruled out much to be honest. I cant tell obviously from here but my pc isnt very hot ( i know thats a bad way to measure but ive only tried fixing it now) and as i said the malware

DxDiag would be better--- It would tell us your Driver versions etc

also, how much space is left on your HDDs

Hooyah-

If your HDD is running out of space it will be harder for the PC to move things around. Its like Over stuffing a closet and trying to get to something in the back. Your OS needs space to use the swap files, prevent fragmentation, and to create temporary files etc

Hm. Well- Have you looked at your resource manager? You can search for it in the little search bar on the bottom left - "Resource Manager." You can get an idea of what is going on in the Task Manager as well under the Performance Tab.

Hey so i restarted my pc for the 5th time, i have to admit i cleared some space for my hdd which brought it to like i said 175GB, i had not restarted my pc after, but like i said i did now. And i noticed that my disk usage went back to normal, so around 1% while on desktop. Everything started working smoothly again which is kind of weird? Im quite surprised that this would be the ''cure''. So to be sure here are my dxdiag things (ill post them in my next reply)
