Xbox one controller blinking mid game
So i had this problem for the past two days. I had this xbox one wireless controller for several months now? and all of a sudden while i play halo, ff14, killing floor anything the light starts blinking out of no where then back to normal. It's messing up my gaming so badly. I was gonna buy a new controller as i prefer wireless but wanted to see what the steam family would say? any help would be apprciated i have restarted my computer, downloaded the xbox acc app and updated the firmware, pluged out the wireless adaptor and plug it into another usb port and used new batteries 3 times recharable ones i made sure to be fully charged same problem persist.

Usually means its losing wireless connection and trying to reconnect.
Happens to me too sometimes. Seen it both with the wireless adapter and over bluetooth.

My money is on Ogami's suggestion.

Just for clarification, you did plug the actual controller into the PC by USB right? Best way to check where the problem is. If it's a Bluetooth issue, that should confirm it. Do you have an XBoxOne to try it out on?

I did not try to plug it it into the Pc using USB and i do not have a xbox one to try it out on gonna plug in and see if it works normally.
It is reconnecting.
If it does not happen "often", it just happened.

It keeps doing mid game at random times though. disconnect then reconnect.
Could be the bluetooth or the controller.
Test to know which

3 years later, microsoft hasn't fixed yet
My xbox series controller has a same issues. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating, I nearly throw my controller to the wall.

enjoy playing a game. Suddenly, my character keep moving forward (or left/right), can't control my character, then my controller start blinking then disconnect then reconnect (2-3s) and back to normal. Look like my controller gets disruption by something. it happens at least 1 time per day.

(using bluetooth connection on PC, all drivers/firmware lastest version)

That happend to me too. Was super frustrating. Finally found the solution.
You have to go to the Microsoft Xbox homepage and download an programm called
"Xbox Accessories".
https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/accessories/xbox-accessories-app

Install it, then connect your gamepad to your pc via USB cable (important!).
Then start the program and "scan for updates".
It will dowload some new gamepad chipset drivers and install it ON THE GAMEPAD CHIP, which takes a few minutes.
After that you are good to go, did not have a single disconnection like you described in nearly 6 months since doing this.

xbox accesssories app I already downloaded it and updated the latest version. No available update.
I use the Microsoft wireless adapter and I have no problems with my controller. Maybe try that and see.

Might just be a crappy bluetooth in the controller, I got an older controller that I like the feel of better I use for Forza, but I have to keep it like above or rest my hands with the controller on the desk for it to stay connected, I got a new controller the signal is much better with it, I can go to the other side of the room and its works fine.
