Steam restart loop, CSGO

Everytime I try to launch CSGO, it says 'Steam must now be restarted in order to receive the latest update. You won't be able to continue using steam until it has restarted' I've done a lot of things like uninstalling both steam and CSGO. Deleting the package file and updating steam again. Changing the Steam Library folder. All the things I could find online. But its still not working. Need help.

Same Problem! I have been fighting this for the last 2 days. Restarted PC. Uninstalled and reinstalled steam. Uninstalled and reinstalled CSGO. disabled antivirus. Cleared Auto exec file and deleted launch options. Still Not working. Also VERIFIED INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES. Other Steams games working fine. Steam Please Help.

FIXED! thanks to my son. One of the online fixes was turn OFF Betas in Steam. Mine was already disabled. The fix however is to ENABLE Betas in Steam- Settings Account - Steam Betas Turn on.
Steam will update. then all is good. :-) I have left it on but You may be able to turn it off again? but I have not checked that.

Thank you so much been having this problem in dota and this fixed my problem.

Something else solved this for me, and it's so hecking stupid. You would think it already updated or will update when it prompts to restart, but it's not the case.

At top left click "Steam -> Check for steam client updates" and it will only now update. Then it works. So, so stupid.

don't mean to revive a dead thread but this post really should be shown more support as it literally is the first thing to appear when googling the issue and solves it quickly and in a short summed-up manner. Thank you so much,

I agree with Gnome. This post needs more love. I just turned on the beta in settings, steam actually updated instead of looping me over and over. Now i can go back to smashing Eldin Ring, over 104 hours since release a few days ago. Thank You Dr.Blob too!

Just now had this problem for Elden Ring as well. Opting in to Steam Beta Update fixed it.
