You need to be level 10 to unlock the first showcase.

Get to level 10 on Steam profile, once you have done that, go to your profile, and you see you can add a Steam showcase, you can then display what you wanted. You get a showcase every 10 levels, example if you get to level 50 you have 5 showcases, level 70 you have 7 showcases.

You can level up by crafting badges, or earning badges from Steam events. You missed the Steam Cleaning event which all you have to do was play couple games for one second each game, and you get 500 Exp which is enough to get you to level 10 for free, since you're already level 5.

You missed it I said, which was over 14 hours ago it ended. The event started on May 21st 10AM PDT, and ended on May 28th 10AM PDT.

Yes, Steam summer sale is coming up soon, which claims say it's next month, check back around June 23rd, or June 25th 10AM PDT to see when it starts, the summer sale lasts for two weeks.
