lag when opening steam games from task bar tray

When I right click the steam icon on my taskbar, there's a 10-15 second delay from when I click a game and when it actually launches. When I press the play button in the library, it's instant. When I use open the game from the tray and I have my steam library open I can see it takes 10-15 seconds for the icon to change.

Anybody else having similar problems? I'm using an AMD card.
