How to get rumble working on a DirectInput controller via SteamInput?
Hi, I have a PS2 controller with a USB adapter hooked to my PC. After looking on the internet, I found an appropiate driver that let me enable rumble on the controller. It works great, but the issue is that the default driver it uses is DirectInput. With Steam, I can change that and make games think I'm using an Xinput controller, which works flawlessly. Every game I tried correctly mapped my bindings and even RetroArch listed it as an Xinput controller, but there's something mising, rumble support.

Games that natively support DirectInput and rumble (FlatOut 2 comes to mind) do support rumble for my controller, I tried it, it works. Problem is, I can't get Steam to support rumble on my PC. When I press on "Identify" in the controller list on Steam's Big Picture mode, the controller that's assigned to that entry should vibrate right? That's what it did when I used some programs like Xoutput before (but I want to use Steam now as Xoutput was way too laggy). Well, Steam can't send a rumble signal to my controller for whatever reason. How can I achieve that? If I can make Steam send rumble signals to the controller, then I can have the best of both worlds. Compatibility for old games, and rumble support, plus a controller that won't break in a few months.
