Just moved to Germany - high ping
Hi guys - I recently moved to Germany and I have a very bad (in-game csgo) ping (around 380ms) after 18:00 approximately every day.

Vodafone is my ISP, and I'm not really expecting them to fix the issue if I call them.
- Can some of you guys tell me which ISP's work for you in Germany?
- Do you have Vodafone yourselves?

It's worth noting that my ping is only high in-game. Outside, my internet functions properly.

- Please no suggestions like "reset your router", "restart your computer" etc.

Thank you!

I have Vodafone myself and not such issues.

Could be a regional thing, you should probably try to get contact with Vodafone, so that they are aware of the issue, at least.
thats just germany
Have you tried other games? If so, and if they've worked finely, have you checked to see if you've got a VPN or something? Have you also changed your Steam download server? (I believe even that can change some things.) Or is there any option in CSGO to change region of play? Perhaps by right-clicking the game and going into Properties?
Set steam download region to something "closer".
But even greenland should be fine.

Hmm, early morning or late at night is the best time. Well, 380 is really high. Even compared to old modem times with 1xx-2xx latency.

Use MTR, Pingplotter or the CMD/Ping function to find the culprit in your network. It may help. Values (as example lagspikes, slow connections) can be used as well to talk about them with your provider

Well, I don't play CS-Go.

Vodafone works just fine for me.

Now, there are generally two things that can go wrong -- "your" last mile, or "something else". If I had a problem like this, I'd figure out where the problem is before doing anything else.

Can you figure out what the IP address of the CS-Go server is that you are using? Maybe even try another one, if the game has options like that -- maybe yours gets too crowded in the evening, and the problem isn't your internet at all.

What exactly do you mean by "the internet functions properly"? Are you running pings, or are you just looking at webpages (which probably don't really degrade noticeably when latency increases).

If your gameserver is on the others side of the planet there is no way to have a good ping

Is your internet connection trough the Phone Line or Cable? (vodafone has both...but not sure if they sell cable(TV) trough vodafone or just Kabel Deutschland/Unitymedia)
If it would be the latter it could be easily explained with more people using the net at that time, as cable connections might be affected by the amount of people who use it/the bandwide wich is used at that time.

Germany is big and there a lot of cables u know.

What I want to say is, no I hadn't issues with Vodafone. I tried a few ISPs in my life and mostly I encountered rare cases of packet loss to specific game servers but no high pings. And I lived in 6 different cities.
