A few Unity games I play have this issue for some people (especially on older systems), and the fix that was suggested to them was to launch the game using OpenGL. It may or may not work for you RedGeneral28, but it is worth a try on games that are still having this issue for you.
Launch Parameters: -force-glcore
Remember to clear the launch parameters from the game if this does not work.
Keep in mind you may lose some performance in OpenGL compared to Vulkan, but if the game won't run in Vulkan, but will in OpenGL- profit?
I have nothing else that hasn't already been covered in this thread already. :/
The Solitare Conspiracy far as I can find anything about it what OpenGL version it uses, far I can only find out claiming to be using 4.4, but only way to be sure what version is asking the game dev what OpenGL it supporting.
list games it happened on:
grim dawn
element td 2
who's your daddy (2020 version only, not 2015)
killing floor 2
what does these games have in common?
they are all different genres, different released, and look different graphic wise. they also (probably) have different system requirements.
other games ive tried to play recently and could run without black screen:
Destiny 2 (high settings)
World of warcraft
Cities: skylines
Apex legends
Fortnite
Don't starve together
Northgard
Path of exile
so is the top list based on unity engine and the bottom list based on other graphic engine?
Path engine? Same as path of exile?
Cause I never had a single crash in Poe during my 7000+ hours in it.
Destiny 2 (high settings) - whatever Bungie calls their engine
World of warcraft - Warcraft 3 engine originally, evolved into something of its own
Cities: skylines - Unity engine
Apex legends - Source engine
Fortnite - Unreal engine
Don't starve together - custom built
Northgard - Heaps (open source engine: https://github.com/HeapsIO/heaps)
Path of exile - Frostbite engine
As stated above, Grim Dawn is not Unity but a custom build of Iron Lore.
very thanks for list.
do you know engine of element td 2, who's your daddy, killing floor 2?
from i can tell i seem to have problem with only unreal engine and iron lore engine.
is frostbite the same engine the game battlefield 4/5/star wars battlefront uses? pretty sure it was called frost something.
