Unity games won't display on my PC!
Like the title says, my PC won't run any Unity based games properly. They just load up to a white screen, and the background music will play. My drivers are up to date, and I can't find anyone who knows about this problem. Games that I've put time into on the is PC just stopped loading properly. Someone. Please. Help.

edit: People can't read the first line of the post, so I changed the title.

other old idea.

deselect the dlc game has. ( no mods ) and no previous install with mods leftover
require clean fresh install. ( wipe folder or rename them to "gamename folder.old" same as userdata folder

with dlc deseleted try Original game only, and there can be save game this is a new test game creation as Original as possible.

( this is learn from other game with DLC and mod issue ) that still effect game with a not clean fresh install )

this is easy to understand then you know steam uninstall/reinstall is not a fresh install
( you might even need a ccleaner to verify after uninstall to get ride of registration issue with windows ) that is a junk and windows registration repare Registration Database 2 task with that app, i know they have change it with new but you still need the 2 options.

atm. you are at ends road with me.
i have no more idea's what you can do to test this, then Game devs also seem to scrates there head's at the support site.

do not forget own security app. they dont tell anymore if they block it, this is old news and
still users own respondsibilities to make allow rule with steam.exe and game.exe file or uninstall and reboot pc and test without security on. safe boot mode should do same here. see steam help interference issue for this.

Ok bye then.

Already been tried, didn't think I needed to post it after saying the drivers are all up to date. Also why I linked the original forum topic of when I first had this problem, where everyone and their mother told me to do that same thing. How that makes it "refusing to read your advice" is beyond me(not certified check tech support, but what do I know, I'm clearly an idiot).

Do Unity games work on your desktop but NOT laptop?

Is the laptop using the Intel card rather than the Nvidia or AMD card?

On desktop, yes Unity games work. Laptop, no. I made sure that the laptop was running off of the Nvidia. Tried using windowed mode through steam+Nvidia, using their launcher, nada.

No errors. This is what I'm talking about:
(Might want to turn up the volume)

https://forumcontent.paradoxplaza.com/public/521558/VID_20191220_173742.mp4

Occurs with EVERY Unity based game. Everything else runs great.

you need to get windows event viewer on this, why does a app crash.
the idea with start game.exe itself should have give a explanation with why game dont startup with a error msg. ( this is the right way to faulty finding it ) as long you have game requirements.

there is safe boot mode, this is more a interference issue and test windows with fewest things startup and then the game most games should do that. ( as long own security dont block it and that why safe boot mode is made )

as above user point out Unity games work on hes pc, ( this is what i and other guess on something has bugged this at the pc, and why i and other think can only be at your pc.
you might want to tell every game you had with them, i dont have your games so i cant test this for you.

google "how to use windows event viewer" to locate something in a blind mode is almost hopeless, ( unless another steam user know exatly what it is and had same issue as you.

you dont have many choise left then no info what cause it.
test with diffrent pc or use ( safe boot ) or ( windows event viewer ) ( new windows OS installation ) unplug all external device that not needed, printer and gamepad all that game dont need.

if Nvidia card use custom install and make clean install, then checkbox is there as option.

im not saying you have to reinstall windows OS, im saying with no error or idea what cause this.
then as we all say you are in trouble. ( and you might want to make a DXdiag and MSinfo32 and its actual games devs that normal do that. ) if they dont support game anymore you need to give alot more detail if you want steam user to help you. ( system spec )

do not underestimate go to a friends house and login with your steam account and install and test game work there. ( that is what i did on my laptop with another game. and discovre the missing msg from games own launcher. until i start game.exe itself and then it cry like a baby, as we say.
( so its actual up to you, walk away or gather info and hope any steam user here can ID or give clue what can cause this, and we are not support )

I hear you. Can you even call this a "crash" though? The game is essentially running, it just won't display. I can clearly hear sound from the game playing as if it were working normally.

This was my one-armed man, unfinished business, the anomaly, that I was trying to get solved and it may never be. In any case, I'm just going to call it a wash, maybe hawk it for something more powerful since it's about three or four years old at this point.

Thanks for trying to help folks.

Wait, you say it's running, playing sound as well just normally?

Do you have multiple screens active?
Or using multiple virtual desktop?

In the video I posted, the background music you hear from the main menu of battletech. The beeping sounds you hear as you click are from "selecting" in the game.

No multiple screens, this is on a laptop. Not using virtual desktop either.

Try this connect your laptop to tv, or monitor using the hdmi cable, to get a 2nd display, and try launch the game.

Check the display settings as well while you're still hook up to the tv / monitor, switch modes for displays to mirror, and try again.

If using windows 10, we all have virtual desktop. Press, and hold windows key, then press tab key, and should bring up desktop hub, see if you have any extra desktops happening there.

What audio devices are installed? Realtek and or Nahimic?

Well you need to tell Laptop spec , according to Battletech cpu req, in minimum and recommend
you need 3,1Ghz to Ghz3,4Ghz, so unless you dont own a almost Brand New Laptop, most of them can go there in Full Performance, in Balance Mode its doubt full.

and its here Desktop pc and Laptop should not be seen as equal.

google those CPU nr and you will see alot of Ghz. and most laptop from past Generation can have trouble with 3.0Ghz+ depend on each model ofc. ( and still require Full performance to get to top max performance.

and maybe this is the issue why game has issue with it, most Laptop i know simple crash to desktop and dont hang itself. but you need to tell system spec and AIM for a lower settings maybe.

Don't have those specs in front of me at the moment (I'm workin'). Suffice to say that the games ran pretty damn well, better than my desktop does. At one point it started doing this, so I reached out for help and the saga began.

If games that run Unity doesn't display any visual screen it's either your graphics drivers that are corrupted or the Unity engine installed on your PC itself. Have you tried playing a Unity game on another Device?

Reinstalling Windows doesn't force re-fresh the HKEY library for these things, as if Unity games work on another machine, then I should recommend you put in / buy a brand new SSD / HDD and install a fresh Windows install and try it there. If problem still persists, I can just recommend you trying other/older graphics drivers (if problem still persists) and if you have any rememberance of updating your drivers and this happened, going back to an old one which it worked. (newer drivers CAN cause more problems then previous versions, which worked perfectly fine). Newer drivers are mostly optimizations for newer games and not old games. They may however create problems for older games if they miss that.

Hm yes, you may also swap out your RAM sticks only having one ram stick in at a time of trying. If one of them is corrupt. You can also try running benchmarks and see if all is ok. LMK if you need help with that. And if you have an other or older graphic card laying around you can also try it with that if all other options mentioned here fails.

Same freaking problem over here, found old threads related to this BUG sayin:
"went into Nvidia Control Panel. This is where I changed "Aspect ratio" to "No scaling" on the Adjust desktop size and position page (with "perform scaling on Display")."
But this won't help me at all, it's unfortunate, I really really really hate windows 10 with all my heart.

I’m also experiencing this issue of Unity games that won’t work on my desktop PC, or at least two of them so far. They instantly crash without any error output anywhere (no error dialog, no logs, nothing in the Windows events), making it very difficult to figure out what’s going on. I have tried a lot of troubleshooting steps to no avail, none of the solutions that worked for other people have worked for me. However, recently I was able to play Dear Esther : Landmark Edition, which was also made with Unity, so it’s possible that this problem arises only with some versions of Unity. But really, I’m at my wit’s end regarding this issue, apart from reinstalling Windows completely maybe. All my other games work fine

and no one can guess on your spec , and it could be seen as rude, if you did not know, 3 page and then iy look like running a game OP don't have game requirements, and then you post something , with no spec, you do know this will stop every helper, system spec. or solve your problem with contact game devs. have a nice day.
