Screenshot Uploader disabled, but still runs and prevents shutdown
So I have the screenshot uploader disabled as well as no hotkey for screenshots, yet the screenshot uploader will still run and interfere with other processes, takes oddly high amount of cpu power, and also prevents shutdown.

What gives? I have tried everything to disable this damned thing and it still screws up my pc. I have also tried searching the forums, but anything somewhat close to what I have is from 5 years ago, and I have already tried the fixes presented.

What exactly do you mean?

Steam Web Helper? that's for the client itself.

If you're running out of ram, go up to the STEAM > SETTINGS section in your steam client window, and find LIBRARY in the popup. Read the options, click or unclick the ones that make sense, and restart Steam.

I mean the steam screenshot uploader. The thing that pops up after you have taken screenshots in game. The problem is that I have it disabled and don't even have screenshots hotkeyed and yet the thing is still open slowing down my pc. I thought that was pretty clear in the OP.

Then you need to fish around again in STEAM > SETTINGS > CLOUD (though why it's there and not with the other ui items I don't know) and unclick the "open updater" option.

It's best if you look at the Settings screen yourself, and familiarize yourself with what each area does. The only reason I had to assume that it was the webhelper is because that's the only thing that actually takes up any space in your ram, and the only thing that people have ever found to complain about.

Bro, I don't want to seem rude, but as I have now stated twice, that option is turned off. I can take a screenshot if that will help you understand, but the checkbox for opening the screenshot uploader is turned off. And I don't even have take screenshot bound, so I am not taking screenshots. Yet this feature is still active for some reason. That is the entire issue.

Reinstall Steam, then. I got nothing - it doesn't seem to be an issue that anyone else has talked about, so it's highly likely that it's on your computer's end.

Is this for a specific game? Or every game?

I just reinstalled windows actually, for an unrelated reason. And it was doing it before the reinstall as well.

Did you ever get this resolved? I have it disabled too and it's been delaying my shutdowns.

I'm also getting this problem with the Steam Screenshot Updater preventing shutdown, even though settings claim it is disabled.
