Adding a second computer to my Family Sharing Library
My grown-up daughter does not live with me anymore but we want to share our Jackbox games. Steam guidelines talk about having other family members sign onto the same computer but that is NOT what I want to do. Any advice?
Thanks.......mike

Both accounts need to log in at the same computer before you can authorize them to access eachother's libraries.

To do family share.
Login to the account you want to share. Go into Steam settings > Click on Family > Check box for "Authorize Library Sharing on this computer > A new area will appar, now check the box for the other account you wish to share with.

Do the same thing with the other account. Now you're both sharing between each other on the PC. Do this on the number of PC's you want it done one, example since there two PC's, just do these steps again on the other PC as well, so now both PC's has family sharing.

Do understand that only one person can be active on the library at a time. Example A1 = You, B1 = your daughter.

If A1 playing A1 games library, and B1 playing B1 games library, there no issue.

If A1 playing A1 games library, and B1 wants to play A1 games library, B1 will be told that A1 currently playing. Work the same vice versa.

If B1 playing A1 games library, and A1 started playing A1 games library, B1 will get a warning with 5 min countdown to save, and quit, before force close down because A1 want to play A1 games. Work the same vice versa.

Look, I know this is an old post. I came across this trying to find out what is going on. Simply put, if you want to share your account with another user you have to log into each other's accounts on each device you are trying to share it on. It took me literal hours to figure this out.

if you have not logged into both accounts on both devices it absolutely will not work.

It stops working for some random reason. Even when everything is ticked off and authorised libraries will stop showing on accounts you share them with.
I had to remove the pc authorisation, redo the tick mark and then it started working.

I went to the family tab (I'm already in a family, not including other users on my PC) and I cannot find the "Authorize Library Sharing" option. I looked everywhere I could possibly think of and it never appeared anywhere. Do you need to not be a part of a family? Is there maybe a video I can refer to?

The new Steam Families doesn't have this option anymore.
