GTA IV
Hello dear users!

I have a question about a game i bought a long time ago. Its GTA IV, i bought it on its release on a CD with a product code.

A couple of years ago i wanted to start playing the game, so i installed it and used the code. However the game never wanted to start. I could click the icon but it would just not start the game.

Now i wanted to activate this game on STEAM with the product code that i have here. However STEAM does not recognise the gamecode! Is there any way that i could still activate this game through STEAM?

Thanks in advance!

The only chance you have is asking Rockstar support nicely, though they'll be more inclined to give you a social club code.

Expect a no.

But you don't have a Steam product code, your CD key is not a Steam key. Product codes from different platforms, old CDs/DVDs, etc are not all universal and usable anywhere. Unless the CD key explicitly states that its use is for Steam, chances are that it's not the intent that you can just throw a key in on Steam and get the game.

No. Wait for the game to be on sale, and re-buy it on Steam.

Don't even have to ask. The key literally redeems on the Rockstar Games client now; and will give you the Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition license (which includes Episodes from Liberty City).

They removed GFWL from GTA4. // about time too.
