No native Linux game possible
Hi.

First: Proton works like a charm, but I would like to try a few games without. But this is not possible.

This is what steam prints out for Portal 2 and Tomb Raider, and I just wonder why that happens:
dlopen failed trying to load: /home/joz/.steam/sdk32/steamclient.so with error: /home/joz/.steam/sdk32/steamclient.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [S_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; Sys_LoadModule failed to load: /home/joz/.steam/sdk32/steamclient.so [S_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; unable to locate a running instance of Steam, or a local steamclient.so
For the record: The file exists and is an ELF dynamic library.
$ file /home/joz/.steam/sdk32/steamclient.so /home/joz/.steam/sdk32/steamclient.so: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), statically linked, BuildID[sha1]=58e35ff9bd945a18e32a8414d545b23704ff7bab, not stripped

Most funny is probably what Portal 1 gives me:
ERROR: ld.so: object '/scratch/Steam/ubuntu12_32/gameoverlayrenderer.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32): ignored. ERROR: ld.so: object '/scratch/Steam/ubuntu12_64/gameoverlayrenderer.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64): ignored.

Is this all the same problem? Does anyone have it too? Is it some obvious library missing?

Thanks for answering.

https://steamcommunity.com/app/221410/discussions/ Might get you better results.
Looking in my Steam settings under "Steam Play" I see two options "Enable Steam Play for supported titles." and "Enable for all other titles" with a proton version selector. Wouldn't unchecking the first option turn the proton compatability off?
